No nap today

It is one of those busy days- kids here all day- then a 5 hour meeting, plus driving time, won't be home until 9:30 or 10....

Lord, I need strength today!

My song today....
We bow down and confess, you are Lord in this place
You are LORD in this place
You are all I need, its your face I seek
In the presence of your light WE BOW DOWN

Ok- here goes-

Romans 8:1 There is now
no condemnation
to them who are in Christ Jesus,

2because through Christ Jesus
the law of the Spirit of life
set me free
from the law of sin and death.

This is hard- I have not memorized for years!!

Lord, that is what I am praying for today- the Spirit of Life..to flow through me and in me..
Amen

Romans

So my goal is to learn Romans 8 over the next 40 days...I have wanted to memorize this for a while...some days I will add only part of the verse

Romans 8
Life Through the Spirit

1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,[a]

Not too hard, but can I live that no condemning, me or anyone I find hard to deal with.

God I am really praying for that- a heart that is not condemning- the opposite would be praise, commend...help me to do that instead.

No song today...the girls are watching Hannah Montana and "The best of both worlds " is in my head,....actually as I write this- it came . A Twila Paris favorite of mine-

The joy of the Lord
Will be my strength
I will not falter
I will not faint
He is my Shepherd
I am not afraid
The joy of the Lord
Is my strength

The joy of the Lord
The joy of the Lord
The joy of the Lord
Is my strength

Thy joy of the Lord
Will be my strength
He will uphold me
All of my days
I am surrounded by mercy
And grace
And the joy of the Lord
Is my strength

If I can live in your grace Lord, I know that I will know

therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Amen

Mighty to save

Mighty to Save
My song today-
I can hear Michael W Smith's voice....

Everyone needs compassion
Love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of nations

Saviour
He can move the mountains
For my God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever
Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender

Shine Your light and
Let the whole world see
We’re singing
For the glory of the risen King
Jesus

I listened to Joyce Meyer to day- reminding us- do our good deeds in private..boy is that hard for me...so much of my identity is being "good"...I like being caught at it!

But I know God actually wants the real me, not the outward good show off...all my fears and failures....

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender

Matthew 6
Teaching about Giving to the Needy
“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. 2 When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. 3 But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4 Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Help me today- take away my heart that judges others, and fill me with thankfulness for all that YOU have done...

Monday

Woke up to a beautiful sunny day- what a gift!
It is back to work, and summer life...no vacation this week...
Time to try to get on a schedule....it is hard, anytime something changes, to return to rhythm...
The song in my heart today-
Oh, Cleanser of the mess I've made,
Upon the hill our places trade.
Stretched on a cross, Your body crushed,
By human hands You formed from dust.

(chorus)
How wonderful Your mercy is!
How awesome are Your ways!
I come, I come to worship You
For all You've done.

Oh, Cleanser of the mess I've made,
Your boundless love for me portrayed.
With patience for my learning curve,
By holding back what I deserve.

I am thankful for all you have done- I pray for help ....the messes would be less, and hurt fewer people...may I be like you Jesus..

The verse for today-
Psalm 103:8

The LORD is compassionate
and gracious,
slow to anger,
abounding in love.

May these words be true of me, since I am called to be your disciple..

Amen

4th of July

America the Beautiful-
That was today
Blue skies
Sun shining
Red, white and Blue everywhere..
A parade, a cookout with friends...family...food...we are so blessed

God has blessed America- my home sweet home

It is hard to even remember 9/11 ...today I saw airplane fly in the blue sky and thought of that day...
the fear...the sadness...yet my girls have no memory of it...

So thank you God for over 8 years of sleeping in peace, without any fear..
May you bless the men and women who fight and sacrifice so that I, my family, and our friends live in peace...

May we remember what freedom is.

John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.

Amen

It is July- we only saw the sun for part of 6 days in June- I discovered I like dreary days..must be because I prefer inside to outside....

I am trying to start my day w/ my quiet time written here-

My Song for today

It is only Grace
It's only Love
It's only mercy and believe me it's enough
your sins are gone
they're washed away
there's nothing left here
There's only Grace

No need for me to impress God..He has done it all

Jeremiah 9:23-24 —

This is what the Lord says:
"Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom
or the strong man boast of his strength
or the rich man boast of his riches,
but let him who boasts boast about this:
that he understands and knows me,
that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,"
declares the Lord.

How true this is of me- I want to boast about how smart I am, forgetting that any wisdom I may have is God's gift to me...no boasting of my strength though..I am praying that God will help me pattern exercise into my life..

And I am so thankful for the blessing of neither poverty or riches, he has blessed with a wonderful life...but no vast riches that we need to care for....

God, you know I want to know you, and be transformed by my understanding of you.

Thank you that you are kind, help me to love justice and righteousness- just as you do...help me stand up for what is right...

Amen

A morning song

I read somewhere that the Holy Spirit will put a song in your heart each morning- I have been trying to listen for one each day- today it was a favorite from GCS-
"They say we need money and power
they say there's no God up above
Don't they know our friend in high places
nothing is stronger than love
Seek first the kingdom of heaven
and all shall be added..."

That is what I am trying to do...seek His will
Allow Jesus to be the "firstborn" and rest in His strength.....

The verse for today-
“The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.”- Zechariah 14:9

I am so thankful God that you are Lord-
